Inspireher: Programs and Initiatives

Revolutionizing Women’s Health Through Action & Advocacy

At InspireHer, behind every statistic is a real woman—a mother, a daughter, a sister—whose life is impacted by systemic healthcare inequities. Our programs are designed to close these gaps by prioritizing women’s and pelvic health and women’s health physical therapy. From equipping providers with the knowledge to change lives to expanding access in underserved communities, each initiative reflects our mission: that through the transforming power of physical therapy, we are building healthier futures—helping women move freely, heal fully, and reclaim their lives at every stage.

The Better
Birth Project

Empowering birth workers with essential pelvic health education.

Maternal health disparities are not just statistics; they represent the real and devastating impact of inequity. Black women in the U.S. are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white women. Women from Indigenous communities also face disproportionately high risks. These outcomes are fueled by a lack of access to quality care, systemic bias, and deeply rooted inequities in our healthcare system.

The Better Birth Project is our response to this crisis. By equipping birth workers—doulas, midwives, and other healthcare providers—with critical pelvic health education, we are working to reduce complications, promote safer pregnancies, and improve postpartum recovery.

Through this initiative, we are not just saving lives—we are changing the narrative of maternal health for generations to come.

Training The Next Generation of Women’s Health Leaders

Equipping physical therapists to lead the future of women’s health.

Behind every successful recovery story is a skilled provider with the training to make a difference. At InspireHer, we believe in investing in the future of women’s and pelvic healthcare programs by mentoring, educating, and funding pelvic and women’s health professionals who are passionate about pelvic health.

Through our programs, we provide:

Grant Opportunities

Supporting students and early-career physical therapists pursuing advanced training in women’s health or who are focused on finding modern solutions for critical pelvic health issues.

Mentorship Programs

Connecting experienced professionals with emerging therapists to foster collaboration and expertise-sharing.

Global Educational Resources

Supplying critical training materials and curricula to institutions in underserved areas to ensure providers worldwide have the tools they need to meet women's health needs. This is how we create a sustainable pipeline of highly trained professionals and programs dedicated to transforming women’s health.

Global Impact Programs

Delivering life-changing education and training to marginalized communities.

Our global initiatives bring healthcare resources where they are needed most. One of our proudest achievements includes delivering $6,246 worth of physical therapy textbooks to Mekelle University in Ethiopia, ensuring that students and professionals have continued access to the best resources to advance women’s health.

Expanding Impact in Ethiopia

GWHI plans to launch a train-the-trainer program in the Tigray region of Ethiopia, in partnership with the Washington University Women’s Health Residency Program. This initiative will equip physicians, physical therapists, and midwives with the knowledge and resources needed to educate other healthcare centers in Northern Ethiopia. By increasing the capacity of those caring for women with pelvic organ prolapse, we are creating lasting, sustainable change in maternal and pelvic health care. Your support can help make this program a reality. <b

Advocacy & Awareness

Fighting for representation, equity, and access in women’s health.

Healthcare disparities don’t just exist—they persist, unless we actively work to dismantle them. At InspireHer, we recognize that awareness is the first step toward systemic change. Through education and advocacy, we are dedicated to making sure that pelvic, maternal, and sexual health are prioritized, understood, and accessible to all. Your support can help make this program a reality.

When physical therapy lacks diversity, many communities are left without providers who reflect their experiences, understand their cultural backgrounds, and can offer truly effective care. The Bridging the Gap Initiative focuses on increasing minority representation in pelvic health, ensuring that more diverse providers enter the field and more communities receive culturally competent care.

We do this through:

Because true change happens when all voices are heard, represented, and uplifted.
